Centuray Featured in Fusion, a Leading International Fusion Media Outlet Future! An In-Depth Look at ITER “Super Delivery” The Chinese Force Behind It

Recently, Centuray granted an exclusive interview to Fusion Future, a specialized media outlet in the international nuclear fusion field, providing an in-depth look at the entire “super delivery” process of Centuray’s participation in the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) project, showcasing to the world the core capabilities of China’s high-end manufacturing in large-scale scientific projects.

Fusion Future is a highly influential professional media platform in the international nuclear fusion field, with a long-standing focus on technological advancements and industry trends in fusion energy. Being featured on this platform for an exclusive interview is, in itself, an authoritative recognition of Centuray’s technical capabilities and international influence. This marks yet another instance of international professional recognition for Centuray’s technical capabilities and global footprint.
ITER: A Great Project in Humanity’s Quest for the “Ultimate Energy”

ITER—one of the world’s largest and most far-reaching international scientific collaboration projects—involves seven participating parties: China, the European Union, the United States, Russia, Japan, South Korea, and India. It is the first global scientific research project in which China has participated deeply and achieved success. Hailed as the world’s largest “artificial sun,” this project aims to verify the scientific and engineering feasibility of generating electricity through nuclear fusion, paving the way for humanity’s quest for an inexhaustible “ultimate energy source.”

In this world-class scientific and engineering endeavor, Centuray has undertaken the critically important task of ensuring the power transmission lifeline: It supplied the ITER project with approximately 67 km of 66 kV cross-linked polyethylene power cables and 446 outdoor terminations, approximately 54 km of 22 kV cables and 160 outdoor terminations, as well as grounding boxes, low-voltage power cables (approximately 11 km), control/instrumentation cables (approximately 80 km), and related accessories. All products were custom-designed with technical support from the Institute of Plasma Physics (ASIPP) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences to meet the absolute stability requirements of the extreme environment at the nuclear fusion site.
From 2015 to 2018, Centuray passed all factory acceptance inspections with a “zero-defect” standard, and the products were shipped in batches to the Cadarache site in France. On July 28, 2020, ITER officially began assembly. Amid the raging global COVID-19 pandemic, Centuray’s technical experts “braved the crisis” to travel to France, providing comprehensive installation guidance and dedicated technical support throughout the process.
The ITER project represents not only humanity’s ultimate energy dream of igniting an “artificial sun,” but also a milestone in China’s deep involvement in global cutting-edge scientific governance. In this mega-project aimed at the unknown future of nuclear fusion, China has taken center stage on the global scientific research stage through its hard-core capabilities. Centuray successfully completed the acceptance and delivery of all products for the ITER project to a “zero-defect” standard. This not only validates Centuray’s world-class capabilities in cable and accessory manufacturing but also establishes a quality guarantee commitment spanning more than a decade. Looking ahead, with basic materials R&D as its core driving force, Centuray is writing a new chapter in the transition from “Made in China” to “Created in China” amid the global clean energy revolution.
